How To Use AI Filter Feature

Customall provides an AI Filter feature that allows you to create custom filters, such as Watercolor Sketch, Oil Painting, Vintage Retro, and more, to create unique designs. When customers upload their photos, the system will automatically apply the selected filter to their images.

Connect API Key


Customall supports Gemini and OpenAI integrations for the AI Filter feature. Before using AI Filter, make sure you have connected an API key for either OpenAI or Gemini.


  • Go to SettingsServices.



  • Click the Config API Key button for the OpenAI/Gemini service.



  • Enter your API key.


You can find instructions on how to obtain your API key by clicking on the link titled How to get OpenAI/Gemini API Key.



After getting the API key, copy and paste it here:



Only the team leader account can access the Services section. After the team leader configures the API key, all team members can use the AI Filter feature.


Enable AI Filter in Artwork


Step 1: Add Image Layer


  • Go to Artwork Editor → Add an Image Layer → Enable the Allow Personalized feature.



Step 2: Set Layer Information


  • In the Layer Settings, fill in details such as label, help text, and placeholder.
  • Under Using value of, select AI Filter.



  • Set the minimum required width for the customer's uploaded image in the Min Width field.


Step 3: Select AI Filter


  • Click Select AI Filter.



  • A pop-up will appear. You can choose an available filter or create a new filter.



In the available filter list, you can:
  • Search for a filter by name.
  • Filter the list by model.



Create a New AI Filter

If you want to create your own filter, follow these steps:


  1. Create New Filter


Click the Create Filter button.



  1. Configure Your AI Filter


Fill in the following information:



  • Choose Filter Model: Select a model that fits your needs
  • Enter Filter Name: Add a name for your filter
  • Upload Reference Image (Optional): Turn on this option to upload a style reference image



  • Add Custom Prompt: Describe the style or effect you want in detail. The more specific your prompt is, the better the result will be.


Note: If your prompt contains words or subjects that violate the terms of use of the selected AI model, the app will return the original uploaded image instead. You can view their policies here.


  • Upload Thumbnail (Optional): Upload a thumbnail image for your filter


After completing all fields, click Next: Test Filter.

Upload a test image.

Click Run Test to preview how your filter works, or skip this step and save the filter directly.



The system will take a few moments to process.


After the image has been generated, you can click Re-test to create a new version. If you want to use the result as a thumbnail, check Use test result as thumbnail.



When you are satisfied, click Continue to Save.



  1. Save Your AI Filter


Review your filter settings → Click Save Filter to save it for future use.



You can change or remove the filter by selecting the corresponding action.



Customer Experience on Storefront


On the storefront, customers can upload their own photos and adjust the positioning by dragging and dropping, rotating, resizing, and setting the display exactly as they want.



Photos must be in JPG, PNG, or JPEG format and must not exceed 12 MB. This limit is set by third-party services.


If your OpenAI or Gemini account runs out of credits or quota, the system will display an error notification when customers upload their photos


OpenAI or Gemini may not send notifications when your account runs out of credits, so it's important to monitor your credit balance regularly.
