How to Create a Shape Cut Layer in Artwork

Some print providers require a black shape cut layer when fulfilling custom shape products. The Shape Cut feature in Customall helps you automatically generate a black image that changes based on personalized options selected by the customer. This saves you time when preparing shape cut files and processing orders.

How to Use the Shape Cut Feature

  1. Select the layer or group where you want to add the shape cut. On the right panel, click the Add Shape Cut button.

  1. In the popup, choose the print layout that matches the vendor's template.

For example:

  • If the template is divided into 1 column and 2 rows, as shown in the picture below, choose 1x2.

  • If the template is divided into 4 columns and 2 rows, as shown in the picture below, choose 4x2.

  1. Select the cell where the shape cut should be placed. This ensures the shape cut and the personalization layer are in the same position.

The shape cut layer will appear in black. It will update automatically based on the personalization selection and the position or size of your layer.

To remove the shape cut, click Add Shape Cut, then either untick the selected cell or click Click to change. Customall will delete the previous shape cut layout.

If you want to add a shape cut to multiple layers, group them first, then add the shape cut to the group.
